​​State Fire Marshals Arrest Two in Kanawha County Arson Case
 
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Investigators with the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office arrested two individuals in Kanawha County, alleging they set fire to a residence in Sissonville to gain insurance money.
 
Joseph Hager, 27, and Lorie Burdette, 31, both of Sissonville, were arrested by ASFM Timothy Chastain and ASFM Ryan McFarland on Thursday, Oct. 12. They are each charged with first-degree arson, burning insured property, and two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony. The fire occurred on Sept. 10 on Springwood Circle in Sissonville.
 
Hager and Burdette were arraigned and are being held at the South Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $20,000.
