Arson Investigation in Wayne County Leads to Arrest
 
CHARLESTON, W.Va. –The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office has charged a Wayne County man with arson, after he admitted to setting fire to an unoccupied Wayne County home in July.

Steven Lee Ward, 24, was arrested Friday, July 28 and charged with first-degree arson. Ward admitted to investigators that he set fire to a residential dwelling at 1521 Glen Ave. in Kenova. No injuries were reported in that fire, which occurred on Wednesday, July 26.

Ward admitted to setting other fires in the area. Those remain under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Ward was arrested and taken to Wayne County Magistrate Court and remains in Western Regional Jail.
