W.Va. State Fire Marshals make arrest in arson investigation
 
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office today announced the arrest of a Jefferson County man on charges he intentionally set fire to a residence in May.
 
Investigators with the WVSFMO have charged Derick McCain, 31, with first-degree arson in connection with a fire that occurred at a dwelling on North Mildred St. on May. 11, 2018 in Ranson, Jefferson County.
 
McCain was arraigned in Jefferson County Magistrate Court and is currently being held at the Eastern Regional Jail.
 
The arrest was made by Assistant State Fire Marshal G.A. Harms, with help from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Ranson Police Department.
