W.Va. State Fire Marshals arrest Barbour man on March arson charges
 
CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office announced today that a Barbour County man has been arrested on arson charges stemming from a March 2018 building fire.
 
WVSFMO investigators say that Jeremy Alan Davis, 41 years old, of Philippi, was arrested on 2nd degree arson charges and felony entering a structure (breaking and entering). The arson and B & E took place on March 8.
 
Davis is alleged to have broken in and started a fire to a former gas station, located at 22399 Barbour County Highway in Philippi, which was undergoing renovations at the time.
Davis was arraigned in the Barbour County Magistrate court and is currently detained at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of $30,000 bond. 
 
The arrest was made by WVSFMO investigators R.Sovastion and R.C. Ayersman, and deputies from the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office.
